Motivation

About that… it’s been a couple months since my last blog post. Trying to find  motivation isn’t always easy.

Instead of getting in to deep

Here’s a recap of how the summer’s going:

  • Just got back from a weekend trip to celebrate my Grandpa’s 87th birthday! One of my favorite memories with my Grandpa is watching Twins baseball at some of my childhood birthday parties when we’d go to Twins games. He is a huge Twins fan! I think I got the reading gene from my Grandpa – he reads even more non-stop than I do and always has a big stack of books right next to his chair. Not the stacks like lots of folks have, he actually reads every one of those books that the librarians in Pipestone send home to him every week. Love you Grandpa!
  • I’m in the process of switching from the Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) program that I had been using to a new program that isn’t as self-directed but will cover the 24-hour care that I need to live independently. Now, I just need to find more staff so my parents aren’t here 100 hours a week. So, yeah. Managing life as I know it… and learning to navigate new services which isn’t always very motivating or easy.
  • Have gone to some MN United Football/Soccer matches this summer.

So, for now:

  • I’m spending a lot of time writing. Reading a ton. Favorite book so far this summer was re-reading Turtles All the Way Down by John Green. The movie was released last spring on Max.  I loved it and love the book even better.
  • My 26th birthday is coming up in early August and probably just doing some stuff with family.
  • Wimbledon AFC and Premier League start up again soon. MN United is fun, but my true love, is AFC Wimbledon and hope I can  go back and watch them again someday
  • Getting ready to go on a concert road-trip to Denver with my parents  in early September. Speaking of which…

My motivation for today is brought to you by Sum 41 who I will be seeing in September at Red Rocks along with one of my other most awesome favorite bands, The Interrupters!
