Hibernating

It’s finally winter in Minnesota so I’m hibernating this week when temps are going to be below zero Fahrenheit. For my friends in other parts of the world, that would be -18 to -20 Celsius. Even colder with the wind chill!

I had fun presenting as part of a panel to 3rd year medical students from the University of MN last week. I talked about some of the important things in making my health care experience positive and some of my tips for caring for people with disabilities.

I did get my new wheelchair and custom seating on Boxing Day – loving my new chair so far. Just a couple more tweaks to get the mounting to work for my new communication device. I have long arms so mounting for communication devices and joysticks gets complicated.

I, of course, have been watching lots of football (as in soccer). I have season tickets for the Minnesota United Football Club for the first time this year and am looking forward to the upcoming MLS season that starts in March. Hope it warms up by then!

No live music coming up. I do want to check out some newer to me local music venues, such as Uptown Theater, The Green Room, and Hook & Ladder. Something for me to research while I hibernate during this cold snap. Stay warm!
