Normally, I probably would have gone to the big No Kings Rally in Minneapolis or they even had a huge one in my hometown of White Bear Lake! Go WBL! I was visiting my grandparents this past weekend in Pipestone, MN – a very conservative part of the state. So, of course, we went to the No Kings Rally in Pipestone!
It was energizing to hang out with folks who are courageous and showing up even when people driving by may be flipping them off or even one guy obnoxiously let off all kinds of black exhaust smoke – but it’s pretty windy in Pipestone, so it blew away towards the very small counter-protest of 5 people on the other side of the highway. There was a LOT of supportive honking and thumbs up for us on the No Kings side of the street, too! Honk if you LOVE democracy!
