I am going to keep this review short and say that this the Green Bone Saga is the greatest epic fantasy family crime series ever in my opinion. I should warn you that this is an adult series. I think Fonda Lee is a brilliant author because the characters feel real to me. It’s gratifying to get wrapped into characters that are complex.
In the first book, the author, Fonda, killed off a likeable character to set the tone of the trilogy that no one is safe. People are going to die in this series. And I am not going to tell you the ending, but it explodes in the final part of Jade Legacy.
I really like how the last book, Jade Legacy, take place over a long period of time. The characters age and this series is literally the story of this generation.
Let’s talk about the characters because I LOVE them all. Hilo, you’re not forgiven for that thing you did in Jade War, but I love you. Anden, ADORE YOU SO MUCH. Shea, love ya. Niko, don’t know how I feel about you.
If you like stories of family crime syndicates, epic fantasies with magic jade, and a bunch of morally grey characters, you will love this series as much as I do.
