86k: what’s next?

I am currently at 86k words and nearing completion of the first draft of the sci-fi fantasy book I have been working on for the last year. My deadline is sometime in the first week of June. I’ll take a little time off before the rewrite process.

What am I going to do before the rewrite?

Take a little break from this book and revisit writing that elusive blog book I started a couple years ago.

Also, remember the last post when I said I got the housing voucher. Well, I spoke too soon. I don’t want to get into any details, but it appears that there is more work to do to hopefully make this happen. If it doesn’t, then I don’t know what I am going to do. $841 – $1332 = a math problem post

Other fun stuff: I’m going to see the Interrupters with Flogging Molly and HAIM. I’ll get to check out accessibility again at the Armory (looks like wheelchair reserved areas are still in the very back of the venue unless you can afford premium seating). I also have some tickets to a couple Twins baseball games this summer. And want to go to a Saints game or two, also.

Oh, hey, I forgot to mention, the Arc Minnesota contacted me a couple weeks ago and I am being recognized as The Arc Minnesota’s Self Advocacy Leader of the Year for 2021 on May 21st! Kind of cool!

Happy mom’s day to my mom!
