Hey – it’s my birthday today! I want to ask you for something simple, something for my 28th birthday: vote. Vote in your primaries and vote this fall. Make a plan, go out and vote!
As for me, I think most of you know that I’m pretty much a Democrat and the big race in Minnesota is for our next US Senator. I’m supporting Peggy Flanagan because she’ll fight for healthcare for all, protecting Medicaid services for people with disabilities and the elderly-and she knows that SNAP food benefits, affordable housing, and livable wages matter and help to strengthen our communities. These are all things that directly benefit not just me, but our communities. I have no idea what the results will be from our August 11th Primary in Minnesota–but I do know that I’ll be supporting whoever wins the DFL nomination– but hope, hope, hope it’s Peggy Flanagan because she’s my friend and she’s got my back.
Fun fact-I’ve voted in every election since I was 18!
